The American Baptist Women's Ministries
of the Central Region are having a logo contest.
They are retiring their famous sunflower and need a new logo
that better represents the fact that the Central Region is
AOK,including Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas.
Here are the rules:
Design a logo that can be worn, displayed and generally
used to promote the Central Region AB Women's Ministries
at events around the Region and beyond.
Submit a full color depiction of the logo
to Central Region AB Women's Ministries Logo Contest,
c/o Deb Kiker, 1701 Lilac Ln., Wamego, KS 66547
or email it by Feb.

An impartial group of women from Arkansas, Kansas
and Oklahoma will judge the entries, and a winner

Central Region AB Women's Ministries president.
.
The winner will receive: one (1) paid registration

Program Theme:
"In The Potter's Hands"
Theme Scripture:
"Now, O Lord, you are our Father;
we are the clay, and you are our potter;
we are all the work of your hand."
Isaiah 64:8
Our new two-year theme takes us deeper
into an awareness of how our Lord has used the gifts,
limitations, and experiences of our lives to shape us
into the women we are today vessels capable
of being used by God for His glory
and the good of creation.
Now we will see that we each were crafted
and molded by God's strong and beautiful hands.
The Master Potter has taken raw clay and transformed it
into something unique, filled with the Holy Spirit and
overflowingwith faith, hope, and love to share with our sisters
in our church, community, and around the world.
Mission Study Theme:
Prison After-Care and Healing Communities for Women
Geographic Theme:
South Africa
Theme Scriptures:
The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord:
"Come, go down to the potter's house, and there I will
let you hear my words." So I went down to the potter's house,
and there he was working at his wheel. The vessel he was
making of clay was spoiled in the potter's hand, and he
reworked it into another vessel, as seemed good to him.
Then the word of the Lord came to me; Can I not do with you,
O house of Israel, just as this potter has done?
Says the Lord. Just like the clay in the potter's hand,
so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.
Jeremiah 18:1-6
"I have raised you up for the very purpose of showing
my power in you, so that my name may be proclaimed
in all the earth." So then he has mercy on whomever
he chooses, and he hardens the heart of whomever
he chooses. You will say to me then,
"Why then does he still find fault?
For who can resist his will?"
But who indeed are you, a human being,
to argue with God? Will what is molded
say to the one who molds it,
"Why have you made me like this?"
Has the potter no right over the clay,
to make out the same lump one object
for special use and another for ordinary use?
Romans 9:17b-21
Supplemental Scripture:
He made ten golden lamp stands as prescribed,
and set them in the temple, five on the south side
and five on the north.

2011-2012 Central Region Project
The Mission and Service Ministries propose that
the AB Women's Ministries of the Central Region
Adopt the "Bethel Garage Project" for their
2011-2012 Project.
Goal: $30,000
(Any money over the $30,000
would be contributed to Bethel.)
Bethel Neighborhood Center is located in an impoverished
part of Kansas City, Kansas; and, as a result, has often
been a victim of burglary and vandalism.
The two 15-passenger vans are a vital tool
for their ministries, but they are often the target of vandalism.
Bethel would like to erect a concrete garage
connected to their existing building.
Estimated cost: $30,000 - $35,000
