"MISSION: POSSIBLE" Region Offering

For the last few years churches in the Central Region have been encouraged to participate in a Region Offering. This offering is used to help expand and enhance the ministries of the Central Region. Last year the "kick-off" for the 2008/2009 Region Offering took place at the ABCCR Annual Gathering and was identified as God's Miracle Offering. God was true to His promise and performed a great miracle in our midst. The initial offering received at the Annual Gathering was over $20,000 and the total received in 2008 was $56,485, over two times the year before!

Because of the faithful and generous giving of our Central Region churches and the fiscal responsibility of the ABCCR Board of Directors and staff, we are able to propose a budget for 2010 that reflects some new mission initiatives.

There is a great sense of excitement as we bear witness to the mission that is possible as we move forward together.

Once again the ABCCR Annual Gathering will include the "kick-off" for the 2009/2010 Region Offering. For this season it is called the "Mission: Possible" Region Offering. Matthew 19:26 is the theme verse: And looking at them Jesus said to them, "With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Join in the effort to participate generously with the Mission God Makes Possible. Participants in the 2009 Annual Gathering in Junction City had the opportunity in their Saturday morning worship service to start the ball rolling. Throughout the year, churches and individuals are encouraged to give generously to the Region Offering.

The "Mission: Possible" Region Offering will be used to continue vital ministries for the Central Region. These dollars will support pastoral search efforts, interim ministries, Central Region camping, new church planting, pastoral support networks, leadership education and Christian enrichment conferences, youth events, clergy credentialing, lay pastoral training, mission & stewardship education and outreach opportunities and many more vital ministries that help strengthen the local church. It is certain that God is not finished with the American Baptist Churches of the Central Region and that there is much for us to do together. The Mission IS Possible!
