The new stewardship program, "New Love,
New Mercy" incorporates tableaux or living pictures to add
a visual element to worship. As the offering is collected, several
people kneel, stand, or sit in view of the congregation in attitudes
of repentance, thanksgiving, and celebration.
The materials include a poster, a bulletin cover, bulletin inserts,
letterhead and a #10 envelope, a Bible bookmark, a commitment (pledge)
card with a mailing envelope, and a new song by Ken Medema. View

Complete Stewardship
Response Programs
Intensive education and focused commitment.
These 3-week or 5-week programs include all the necessary resources
to run a successful annual campaign that focuses equally on giving
of our time, talent and treasure. Programs culminate on "Commitment
Sunday" when people turn in their commitment forms. All resources
in a Program Resource Book are available online at the
Stewardship
Download Center and can be downloaded right to your computer
for easy customization! Each stewardship program has coordinated
materials, including Bible studies (and answer book), devotionals
and tri-fold brochures (available separately).
The New Consecration Sunday
Stewardship Program
by Herb Miller
Emphasizes growing in faith through our giving
by growing one step closer to tithing or beyond.
This annual financial campaign takes place over a period of at least
six weeks from an initial meeting of the steering committee to the
date of Consecration Sunday. The program kit includes an introductory
audio cassette tape which can be played for the Finance Committee,
Stewardship Committee, or Church Council; a Stewardship Program
book for use by the members of the Steering Committee; a copy of
the estimate of giving card; and a Guest Leader's Guide.
The campaign involves a Guest Leader who conducts an initial meeting
with the steering committee, a special Leadership Event for church
council members and other church leaders, the Consecration Sunday
worship services, and a presentation of the results at the Celebration
Meal. Members of the congregation are recruited to share their testimonies
on why it's important to them to give to Christ through the Church
and how it impacts their life of faith.
This program focuses on the need of the giver to give and invites
everyone to consider taking one step-up in their personal stewardship
as a disciple of Christ. The emphasis is not on paying the bills
of the church. Instead members are asked to consider what God is
calling them to give in thanksgiving for the blessings they have
received.
All NCS materials can be ordered from Cokesbury.
